Google believes that the more credible and relevant a certain webpage is to a topic the more websites will link to that webpage.

To sum up the search engine optimization process, SEO requires a hefty dose of technical on-site work and strategic off-site work.

Again, glad you asked! The SEO process aims to display your business page web content in organic search results (i.e. non-paid search results; free) and the SEM process aims to display your web content in the paid section of search results (on the first page of search results).
